New warehouse manager says our containers are inefficient, is he right?

So we just hired this new warehouse manager who came from one of those massive logistics operations in Jebel Ali, and he's been looking at our setup with this expression that's somewhere between amusement and horror. He keeps going on about how our current containers are slowing everything down because they're all different sizes and don't flow well with our conveyor system, and honestly I think he might have a point even though I hate to admit it. He showed me some examples of how streamlined operations work in the big FMCG hubs here and talked about the importance of having uniform handling equipment that works seamlessly with picking and packing processes. Now he's pushing me to invest in proper plastic containers for FMCG product handling Dubai that are designed for the kind of high-volume turnover we're doing, rather than the random mix we've been using since we started. I get his logic, but I'm worried about the cost of replacing everything at once versus gradually phasing things in. Has anyone here made a similar transition and found that it actually made a noticeable difference in efficiency, or is this just one of those theoretical improvements that sounds great on paper but doesn't really translate to the real world? I'd love to hear some honest experiences before I commit to a big investment that might not actually deliver the returns he's promising.
